UNODC has been present in Nepal since 2004. The UNODC Programme Office (PO) is based in the UN House in Kathmandu and is the key interlocutor for cooperation with the Government. UNODC is part of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2023-27) in Nepal.

PO-Nepal is guided by the UNODC Regional Office for South Asia, based in New Delhi and the UNODC Regional Programme for South Asia (2024-28) launched in May 2024.

UNODC cooperation with the Government of Nepal focuses on a safer, just, and prosperous country. UNODC stands ready to support the Government in acquiring further capacity to fight organized crime with UNODC’s support.

UNODC’s work is aligned with Nepal’s 16th Five-year Periodic Plan (2024-25 to 2028-29), following the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to attain the country’s development ambitions.
